Overcoming the darkness (FILM almanac)

Short films were collected with a joint effort by documentary filmmakers. Each film tells about Ukrainian villages, cities, and towns, where people are facing a world-scale tragedy. These are stories about Ukraine’s heroic struggle with Russian fascism. The events taking place create a certain map of the war. In the 21 century, once again a genocide occurs in Europe. Ukrainians are fighting for their land, culture, and identity. Stories of witnesses showcase the horrendous reality of war. But also, the incredible mutual support, faith, and the will for freedom. Behind every Ukrainian soldier are a substantial rear and a light in their home. The enemies only have the immense darkness of their souls behind.
