Fiat Nox!

Nadia, a 19-year-old girl from Kyiv, Ukraine, sits in her apartment, alone and scared. It is the early hours of the morning, and the air raid sirens are blaring. Nadia has been through this before, but it never gets any easier. Her mind wanders back to her childhood, when her father was still alive. She remembers the way he would make her laugh, the way he would always know how to make her feel better. She remembers the day he left for war, and the way she promised him she would be strong. As Nadia sits in the darkness, she recalls the many happy memories she shared with her father. She remembers how much he loved her, and how much she loved him. Nadia knows that her father would be proud of her for being strong, even in the face of such adversity. She takes a deep breath and tries to focus on the present moment. The air raid siren finally ends. She knows that she has to stay safe, for her own sake and for the sake of her future.
