Kherson . Totem .

The program is dedicated to a unique phenomenon in Ukrainian culture — the creative association “Totem” from Kherson.

This is a creative group that, depending on the time and mood, includes 10 to 50 people aged 16 to 61. It was founded in Kherson in 1996 as a studio for creating original television programs, but soon became an association of artists who worked mainly on the borderline of traditional cinema and video art.

The members of “Totem” make films or appear in the films of their friends. The main formats are video art, short films, and liquid television. In their stories, the authors explore themselves, the world around them, the city that has become an important part of their lives and the protagonist of their films.

It is symbolic that at the first edition of KISFF, in 2012, the audience award went to the film “Love and Thirst” by “Totem” member Oleksandr Yudin.
