Shadows And Lights

Vira, an 18-year-old orphan, is studying at a medical university to become an oncologist to overcome the insidious disease that prematurely took her mother, despite disregarding her childhood dream of dancing. In pursuit of practical experience and financial support, she works as a nurse in a private oncology clinic. At the university, Vira meets Taras, a senior student, but she has no time for friendship, dedicating most of her time to studies and work. In the clinic, Vira becomes close to Eva (18), a terminally ill patient, and Eva's successful mother, Lina (42). The girls spend a lot of time together, exploring the sensitive moments of their lives. A scheduled operation fails to yield the expected results, and Eva passes away. The sudden death of Eva is a significant shock and loss for Vira. She quits her job, leaves the university, and immerses herself in memories of Eva. Several months pass. Lina visits Vira in the dormitory to express gratitude for Eva's strong support during her final days and suggests adopting her as a daughter. Vira returns to the university to study as a medical researcher to find a vaccine for cancer. Upon meeting Taras again, she invites him to be her dance partner in a newly joined dance studio. The final scenes depict Vira and Taras dancing the dance of life.
